Repost from January 2020:
I feel like God has been teaching me lately that only true happiness is found in Him. I spent many weeks of my life last month trying to search for happiness in many different places. When God did something good in my life, I let the devil use my fears to scare me away from God‘s plan.
God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7). So often we look to others or things of this world to make us happy, but only God can satisfy. Only His love is enough. We can search and search, but we will just come back empty. When the devil sees the good things that God has planned for us, he’s going to try to do everything he can to prevent God‘s will from happening. We need to stand firm in the Word and prayer.
I’m reminded of how amazing God‘s love is. We see it in those we love. Through a smile, through a word of encouragement, etc. Even when we can’t see Him, He’s working. Even in our darkest valleys He’s working. God‘s grace is enough for us. We can’t earn His love. We don’t have to be perfect. His grace is sufficient for us in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
I’ve learned to trust Him even in my darkest moments of life. We can’t stay stuck in that life of sin because then we can’t experience the full and satisfying life that He has for us. He calls us to live a life of love, and there is nothing you can do that would separate you from that love. God sees you. He sees your hurt. And He welcomes you with loving arms. He’s here, and he’s working. This does not have to be the end of your story.
